With anticipation building for the Southeast Asia region’s biggest security and fire show, we quizzed Apollo Fire Detectors’ head of international sales, Eva Kosanovic, about what to expect from the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of fire detectors.
IFSEC Global.com: Why do you exhibit at IFSEC Southeast Asia?
Eva Kosanovic: At Apollo we’ve been working with our partners in these markets for many years and we’ll take this opportunity to join them at IFSEC Southeast Asia, to widen our market knowledge and support their growth plans.
IG: What are your main goals for the 2014 show?
EK: To meet with customers, installers and end users to demonstrate Apollo’s interest in the vibrant and growing markets of Southeast Asia and share information on the range of products we have available.
IG:Can you briefly outline the solutions and products that will be showcased on your stand in September?
EK: We’ll be showcasing Apollo’s detection equipment, system components and specialist devices suitable for a wide range of environments from marine to industrial.
IG:Are you targeting end users, installers/integrators or perhaps consultants this year, and what’s influencing your decision here?
EK: We are looking to meet with decision-makers in the Southeast Asia markets involved in selection, specifications and installations of fire detection equipment.
IG:Are you targeting any particular vertical sectors?
EK: Commercial applications, hotels and the petrochemical industry.
IG:What will be the defining themes this year from a fire safety perspective?
EK: The expanding economy and awareness-of-life protection options.
IG:In your opinion, what’s the biggest challenge the security industry currently faces?
EK: Counterfeit products entering markets.
IG: What’s your company doing to promote the corporate social responsibility/green agenda?
EK: As a business we ensure our recycling and manufacturing is socially responsible by following ROHS and WEEE compliancy regulations. In addition we use renewable energy sources in the form of solar panels, which power our offices and manufacturing facilities at our EMEA head office.
IG:Do you participate in IFSEC shows located in other regions?
EK: Yes. We feel it is important to demonstrate our commitment to the markets around the world and support our partners in these regions.
