Axis Communications Launches Camera Companion Upgrade and microSDXC Card 64GB

Product in a nutshell: Produced in partnership with SanDisk the microSDXC Card 64GB is an edge storage memory card optimised for surveillance applications. The AXIS Camera Companion 3 is a major upgrade of the its award-winning surveillance solution for small systems.

Verticals/sectors: Small to medium-sized businesses, so anything from small retailers to mid-sized corporate environments.

AXIS Camera Companion 3 features:

  • Features Axis Secure Remote Access, which simplifies installation by removing manual port forwarding and router configuration. Therefore allows encrypted communication between cameras and smartphone or PC clients
  • Supports up to four cameras and 16 channels
  • Updated user interface features instant camera switching in live view for enhanced user experience and sharper client de-warping for improved image usability of overview cameras with 360 views
  • Axis network cameras and video encoders with firmware 5.40 or later support AXIS Camera Companion.

microSDXC Card 64GB features:

  • Suitable for 1-4 channel AXIS Camera Companion systems with decentralised video recording. Also avoids cost and risk of centralised solutions.
  • Delivered with an SD™ card adapter
  • Supported by Axis 3-year warranty

Manufacturer says: “The penetration of AXIS Camera Companion in small businesses shows that users really appreciate the simplicity, ease-of-installation and freedom of use that it offers. This new version further streamlines the installation process and provides even more flexibility for small security systems,” says Peter Friberg, Axis’ Director Solution Management.
