Simon Ince has joined BB7, the specialist firm of consulting engineers operating in risk and resilience within the fire, security and continuity fields.
Ince is well known in the UK fire-safety industry for his vocational approach to fire-risk management, his development of the first UKAS-accredited, third-party certification scheme for fire-risk assessors and his contributions to the wider fire sector.
During his seven years at Warrington Certification he established the FRACS scheme and headed up an innovative CPD seminar programme for both duty holders and fire safety professionals.
In a consultative capacity Ince will lead the development of BB7s business resilience, crisis management and resilience testing services. This will also include training.
Simon has long been supportive of BB7’s mission: to share the latest thinking in the fields of risk and resilience, advise on best practice, challenge accepted wisdom and push boundaries without compromising on safety.
“I am really looking forward to working with Ben and the fantastic team he has assembled,” says Ince.
“BB7 are at the very forefront of innovation and inspiration within the fields of fire, security and continuity; not only delivering a very high quality commercial package, but making significant contributions to the wider advancement of those professions.
“It will be a personal challenge for me, trying to add to an outstanding consultancy firm – but accepting a challenge like this excites me professionally.”
Ben Bradford, BB7’s founder and managing director, says: “Our biggest impediment to growth is finding the right talent. We are very clear that we cannot manage talent, but we can nurture it; we can encourage it and certainly facilitate it.”
“Simon’s seven year career with Warrington culminated with him joining IFSEC’s top 20 Most Influential People in Fire, and he was a close runner-up for the title of Fire-Safety Manager of the Year at the Fire and Security Excellence Awards 2014.
“Simon has some good auditing experience and we intend to build on this by introducing him to our fire, security and continuity management systems auditing services. Simon will be supported by a strong team of fire and security professionals, and I am confident he will be a great asset to us.”
