CCTV to be Installed on Busy Road Stretch Passing Through Hyderabad International Airport

Hyderabad International Airport Road

The road that passes through Hyderabad city’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) linking National Highway (NH)-7 and Srisailam state highway will soon be equipped with CCTV cameras.

While inaugurating two barracks built for the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) on the 11-kilometre stretch Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand asked GMR (an infrastructure company) officials present at a function to cover the entire stretch with the CCTV cameras.

“We have asked GMR airport authorities to install high definition CCTV surveillance cameras on the stretch. There are three traffic rotaries on the 11-kilometre stretch and we have advised them to install multiple cameras there,” says Anand.

Since this stretch lies in the Shamshabad area as a major connecting road the installation of CCTV cameras will monitor thousands of cars every day.

Earlier this month Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also recommended that the police department boosts the number of CCTV cameras within the city.
