Euralarm members have voted to appoint Enzo Peduzzi as president.
Peduzzi replaces the outgoing Marc Chabaud who has been at the helm for three years.
“First of all I would like to thank Marc Chabaud,” said Peduzzi during his opening speech at Euralarm’s General Assembly. “We are very grateful for all the great work that he has done for Euralarm.
“Our association is the beating heart of the European fire safety and security industry. Therefore we should be the partner of choice for questions related to fire safety and security of all authorities, policy makers, research and educational bodies as well as other organisations at European and international level.
“Therefore we should continuously develop ourselves as an association. I’m looking forward to put all my energy and effort into these tasks1, together with the other board members, Euralarm members and delegates.”
Outlining his priorities in his new role Peduzzi said he wanted to oversee the implementation of a Euralarm Office in Brussels and to make communication with members more open. Other goals include strengthening collaboration with other relevant organisations and European institutions.
Hitherto chairman of Euralarm’s Services section Peduzzi is also Siemens Building Technologies’ director for Industry Affairs. He started his professional career in Cerberus where he covered various general management positions in companies active in the fire safety and security business in Switzerland, USA, Portugal and Italy.
After the acquisition by Siemens he became leader of the business unit with global responsibility for the fire safety systems & solutions business of Siemens. In 2011 he took up his current position of director.
Euralarm is holding a half-day conference about the rise of smart technologies and their potential to integrate disparate technologies across urban environments. Called ‘Smart Cities: Safer & Secure’ the conference will take place at IFSEC International 2015 at London’s ExCeL.
