The company, which was founded in Japan in 1918, has created a new range of BIM content based on some of its core fire detection and emergency lighting products.
Developed to create consistency and collaboration in design across the construction sector BIM is modelling software which is playing an increasingly prominent role in fire safety in modern architecture.
BIM also improves efficiency, reduces wastage and cuts costs throughout the lifetime of a building.
Through BIM architects, system designers and end users can examine the location and qualities of all components of a given building design.
One organisation now operating its refurbishment programme within a BIM framework supported by the design and supply of Hochiki Europe’s new technology is London’s University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).
“BIM marks an industry-wide shift in the approach to design in architecture, engineering and construction,” says Hochiki Europe deputy marketing manager Paul Adams. “So it’s not surprising that we’re already seeing significant demand for BIM modelled fire safety products in these sectors.
“Efficiency has always been a key focus of ours, and by supporting early-adopting customers we can reduce inefficiency in the supply chain and help the Government reach its 2016 targets.”
Hochiki Europe’s new BIM range has been designed to meet all BIM content standards and is available to download from the NBS National BIM Library.
