When: 2-4 November
Where: RICEC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Speaking to IFSEC Global in advance of their appearance at IFSEC & OSH Saudi Arabia, Avon Barriers’ business development manager Jason Hunter explains what installers and end users can expect to see by visiting their stand.

Among other topics he discusses the launch of a barrier cabinet aimed at the oil and gas industry and predicts that 3D printing will have far-reaching consequences in the security industry in the coming years.

IFSEC Global: Why is it important for you to attend IFSEC & OSH Arabia?

To raise Avon Barriers’ profile in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and meet with existing and potential clients.

IG: What technology will you showcase on your stand?

We have a range of impact-tested road blockers, bollards, drop-arm barriers and gates, tested to either PAS68 criteria or US ASTM 2656-07 (K12). The test video footage will be available to view on the stand.

IG: How can end users or consultants expect to benefit from visiting your stand?

Our business development team will be on the stand to discuss any end user or consultants requirements with company &and product information available to assist them in planning a project.

IG: And what about installers or integrators?

Similar to above. And our business development manager for Saudi Arabia will be in the country following  the show for any follow-up visits to discuss future business opportunities with installers or integrators.

IG: Are you targeting any particular verticals right now?

We are interested in all sectors that work with critical infrastructure design and security.

IG: What’s your growth plans over the next six to 12 months?

We recognise the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a key focus for our products and the Gulf region in general. In the next 6-12 months we’ll make regular in-country visits to support our existing clients and to develop new relationships with integrators and installers.

IG: What products do you have in development?

We have recently developed the EB750 Atex Barrier, which is a conventional rising arm barrier. It is an ATEX-certified barrier cabinet, designed specifically to sell into the oil and gas industry. We continue to enhance our existing product range with an option for ATEX-certified cabinets for all our PAS 68 equipment.

IG: In your opinion, what’s the most exciting development happening in the security industry right now?

The threat is always moving. Pinpointing and predicting developing markets is the challenge. Recent global events have highlighted some surprise changes.

IG: If you could persuade government to change one thing about the environment your business operates in, what would it be?

Reducing global trade barriers, particularly lowering import duties.

IG: What kind of security industry/technology do you think we’ll have in 10 years?

Data and cyber security is increasingly a focus for government and commercial businesses. An increasing shift from military power to economic and technological power. 3D printing will break down many production barriers globally.avon barriers
