Kings Security Launches Training Academy for 100 in 100 Apprentices

Kings Security will now train apprentices enrolled in the 100 in 100 initiative at its newly opened Kings Training Academy.

Based in Bradford and also serving as the company’s headquarters the academy will train the latest intake of 19 apprentices, who were selected from 1,000 applications.

Kings has already trained 60 apprentices through the 100 in 100 scheme, whose apprentices can also pit their skills against one another in the Engineers of Tomorrow competition.

Taking place at IFSEC International between 16-18 June the CSL Dualcom-sponsored competition sees talented young installers/engineers take on a 90-minute installation challenge for the chance to win cash prizes.

The academy was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Bradford with Kings Security MD Anthony King commercial director Steve Evans welcoming press and other attendees. Training manager Jolene Taylor presented an overview of the academy and charted the progress the apprentice scheme had made in the previous 12 months.

CSL DualCom’s group managing director Simon Banks, who established the 100 in 100 initiative, also gave an update on the campaign.

“Since the launch of 100 in 100 Apprenticeships three years ago we have successfully placed over 2,000 apprentices inkings training academyto the security industry,” he says. “Well done to Kings for their outstanding commitment to apprentices and securing their workforce for the future.”

With high quality engineers still at a premium in the UK economy Kings Security MD Anthony King said the need for facilities like Kings Training Academy was obvious.

“We were finding it increasingly difficult to find engineers to support the growth of Kings,” he says. “The idea behind the Academy is to create a future pipeline of talent for our business.

“The Apprentices we are training now will become highly skilled, modern engineers and potential future leaders of the business.”
