The global market for smart-cities projects between now and 2020 is worth $1.5tn, with 14% of the total budget accounted for by safe city security solutions, a report by Frost & Sullivan has reported.

There are forecast to be 26 cities that by 2025 will be exemplars in, among other things, smart energy, smart infrastructure – including sensor networks – smart buildings and smart/safe cities security – comprising surveillance,biometrics, simulation modelling and crime prediction, and C2 and response.

Taken from IFSEC Global’s Safe Cities report the map below also details ambitious safe/smart-cities projects currently taking place across globe, including India, China, Glasgow and Santander.
