Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

New range of NVRs launched by Samsung Techwin

Product in a nutshell: A new series of NVRs ( SRN-473S, SRN-873S, SRN-1673S ) equipped with a built-in PoE+ switch. The product offers, says Samsung Techwin, an easy to use, multi-language, on-screen graphical user interface.

Verticals/sectors: All entities that require video surveillance solutions.

Features:

  • Lower Installation Costs: With the 4, 8 and 16 channel NVRs installation costs are reduced dramatically as there remains no need for the provision of separate power supplies and switches.
  • Built-in PoE+: The new NVR models can provide sufficient power for any ONVIF compliant PoE+ camera, including speed domes and domes with heaters.
  • 4K camera support: The new NVRs boast of an 8 Megapixel camera support which makes it possible to record extremely high quality images including those captured from 4K cameras.
  • Plug & Play: They can be controlled by a plug-in mouse or joystick controller.
  • Multi-stream video: It also provides the option to multi-stream video at different resolutions to smartphones and tablets, as well as any PC on the network.
  • Easy configuration: Samsung Techwin cameras can be easily configured locally through the NVR interface without the need for a PC.
  • Smart Search: Video of any incident can be easily retrieved with the help of a Smart Search feature which includes the ability to use Metadata search criteria.

For installers: The NVRs are intended to provide system designers with a range of options to fulfil the budget limitations and functionality requirements of any video surveillance project.

Operators have the choice of using either the NVRs’ HDMI or VGA outputs.

Compatibility:

All three models support H.264 and MJPEG compression.

Manufacturer says:

“Our new NVRs with built in PoE+ switches offer a safe method of supplying power to cameras and other devices over standard Ethernet data cables, with the added advantage that organisations can utilise PoE anywhere without having to take into account any variations in local power standards,” says Tim Biddulph, Head of Product and Marketing for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd.

“However, one of the key benefits of utilising Power over Ethernet is that IP network based systems can be expanded at any time without disruption or the need to install additional cables.”

About the manufacturer:
