OTS Transmission Solutions Q&A on IFSEC Southeast Asia

OTS Ltd will be showcasing their transmission solutions at IFSEC Southeast Asia

IFSEC SEARegister to visit IFSEC Southeast Asia 2014 now.

When: 3-5 September 2014
Where: Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia

With IFSEC Southeast Asia a few days away (3-5 September), I spoke to Calvin Wong, a speaker at the show and sales director for one of the exhibitors, OT Systems Ltd.

IFSEC Global: Hi Calvin. Could you tell us a bit about what you’ll be talking about at IFSEC Southeast Asia?

CW: I’ll be presenting a talk  on how to do signal transmissions when you come across different signal sources, different cabling.

What kind of solution do you need? What kind of products do you need to overcome transmission issues?

IG: What audience mix do you expect at your talk?

CW: Most of the audience will be system integrators, distributors and a few end users. I believe will help give integrators an idea of what solutions and what designs they should offer when they have different types of camera and different cabling, and what kind of transmission devices they should use.

IG: Tell us a bit about OTS?

Calvin Wong: We were established in 2004. We are a designer and manufacturer of transmission systems.Calvin Wong 2

In the past we were dedicated to analogue video and fibre-optic systems. Three or four years ago we turned to IP and started to develop different kinds of IP signal transmission systems and products.

We have a comprehensive range of transmission products – for all kinds of surveillance systems, all kinds of cabling.

We have started to sell to Malaysia and Singapore and have been in the Southeast Asian region for almost 10 years. I would say we are in the top three brands for transmission products in Malaysia.

IG: What will OTS be showcasing as an exhibitor?

CW: We are going to show various transmission devices on optical cables and on UTP cables.

We will be more focused on IP signal handling and transmission.

IG: How many times have you exhibited at IFSEC Southeast Asia?

This is the second time. Three years back it was called the International Fire and Security Show, right before UBM acquired the show. We have exhibited four times at both shows.

It’s a great chance to show our new products and talk face to face with potential customers – after all, it is all about relationships.

IG: What topics/areas of security do you think will dominate conversation at this year’s show and why?

CW: Video surveillance and access control will dominate the show.
