Xtralis Enjoys Biggest Global Market Share Growth in Fire Detectors for Eighth Year in a Row

VESDA E

Xtralis’ VESDA E in action

Xtralis®, the pioneer in early warning aspirating smoke detectors, has grown its market share faster than any of its competitors, a report by HIS Technology has revealed.

The World Market for Fire Detection and Suppression Products (2014 Edition) reports that Xtralis rose from the seventh biggest player in the market in 2006 to number four in 2013. Global market share rose from 5% to 6.3% over the same period.

Xtralis continues to enjoy a significant lead in the aspirating smoke detection (ASD) category, with an estimated 61% share, an increase of more than 15% on 2006 levels. However, those figures exclude China, where Xtralis believes it has more than 80% of the market sewn up thanks to sales of VESDA, ICAM, and FMST ASD products.

Xtralis manufactures VESDA® and ICAM™ ASDs globally and FMST™ ASDs in China.

The IHS Technology report also reports that the ASD market will see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.7% between 2013-2018 – eclipsing other fire detection segments.

Another key product for Xtralis is ECO: a gas detection module for VESDA & ICAM detectors, enabling multi-sensor capabilities, and OSID, and a dual wavelength beam detector designed for large open areas. The worldwide multi-sensor and beam markets are projected by IHS to grow by 7% and 6.5% CAGR between 2013-2018.
