Master Lock launches attack- and corrosion-resilient brass padlock

Master Lock has added a corrosion- and cut-resistant combination padlock to its Master Lock Excell® range.

Recommended for storage units, sheds, gates and vans, the 58mm-wide, shrouded brass, resettable combination padlock (M1177EURD) is suitable for outdoor, corrosive and caustic environments.

A durable solid brass body offers resistance against corrosion, while an octagonal boron-carbide shackle with shrouded cover provides resilience against attack.

The deadlocking mechanism – essentially a deadbolt – can only be shifted to the open position by rotating the key, protecting against prying, shimming and rap attacks.

Large dials mean the lock, which is secured by a four-digit combination from 10,000 permutations, can be operated while wearing gloves in low light or complete darkness.

Rated nine out of 10 on Master Lock’s security level meter, the lock is recommended for all uses including industrial applications.

The Master Lock M1177EURD is available now from a variety of retailers including Amazon.co.uk, with an SRP of £26-£30. Like all other Master Lock padlocks it’s covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Master Lock, which was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1921, invented the dial combination padlock and pioneered the original laminated padlock.
