Joe Grillo, CEO of ACRE – the group that acquired Vanderbilt Industries (then called Schlage Electronic Security) in 2012 – has been inducted into the Security Sales & Integration Industry Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
Grillo, whose experience in the security systems sector spans three decades, has been instrumental in growing, acquiring and restructuring businesses, most recently through ACRE, the vehicle he set up in 2012.

Inductees are nominated by past inductees and other luminaries on the basis of their professionalism, conduct and achievements in improving the security industry.
“Growing sales in a highly competitive market is difficult, but I thrive on successfully meeting the goals of an organisation through development and profitability,” Grillo said of the award.
“I’m honoured to be recognised by the Industry Hall of Fame alongside an incredible group of hardworking executives. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to be able to enjoy what I do and the people I work with.”
At ACRE LLC he also oversaw the acquisition of Siemens AG’s former security products division, Access Control Technologies (ACT), ComNet and Mercury Security.
