ASFP in the Market for a New CEO as Wilf Butcher Bows Out

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is recruiting for a new chief executive after the current incumbent, Wilf Butcher, signalled his intention to step down from the role.

Butcher, who has been at the helm for nearly nine years of steady growth, is planning to retire.

“The Association wishes to thank Wilf for his tireless work in promoting the ASFP and representing its views across the wider fire sector and built environment,” said ASFP Chair Stuart Holmes.

“Thanks to Wilf, the ASFP is now recognised as the leading trade association representing the passive fire protection sector of the fire protection industry in the UK and Ireland.

“We are now seeking a new Chief Executive to build on this legacy and meet the sector’s aspirations going forward.”

The ASFP, which is not ruling out candidates without knowledge of the passive fire protection sector, is wants to interview candidates with “strong leadership qualities, management and communication skills in all aspects of the business, with a proven track record operating at senior management level.”

An advert for the role, for which applications end on 28 February, is viewable on the ASFP website.
