Blaze damages care home

A fire has damaged a residential care home in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Crews were called to the incident just before 3.30am on Sunday 23 October. On arrival at the scene, the incident commander requested four more appliances because four people were unaccounted for. By 4.15am everyone was accounted for and crews left the scene at just after 7.15am.

There was ‘moderate damage’ to the room where the fire started and slight smoke damage to the rest of the premises.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
