BT Redcare launches two fire alarm signalling products with dual linking innovation

BT Redcare has launched two products for the fire alarm signalling market.

Offering dual linking between fire and intruder signalling via one device, the Redcare Secure products can offer substantial savings for installers and end users, according to the company.

Redcare Secure Fire IP and Secure Fire protect customers with grade 4 or 3 dual path intruder alarm signalling using BT’s Redcare network.

Should one path fail, the dual path system means another signalling path is still open to transmit critical alarm messages to the ARC. Alarm signalling paths are driven by wireless mobile phone technology and a phone line or broadband connection delivers the alarm signal.

“Third-party certification”

“We’re proud that these two new products, as well as our existing Classic Fire product, have crucial third-party certification that meets rigorous insurance requirements as well British and European standards for fire alarm signalling,” said Andy Fyvie, head of BT Redcare.

“We believe we are the only UK company that provides LPS 1277 third-party certification on a fire alarm signalling system – crucial when considering recent EU legislation makes this a mandatory requirement of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) for all products connected to a fire alarm.

Talking about the dual linking of intruder and fire, he added: “We think many installers are already doing this, but they can now take advantage of this fully compliant product and install fire and intruder alarms together with Secure Fire IP and Secure Fire. It’s great news for us, for Installers and end users.”

Contact your alarm receiving centre to find out about how Redcare Secure Fire IP and Secure Fire are priced. More information is also available on the BT Redcare website, which features a BT Redcare product guide and a fire brochure.
