Open Fire Podcast launches fire door miniseries

A podcast miniseries dedicated to fire doors has been launched by firefighters-turned-fire risk consultants Dave Calvert and Tom Gilbert.

The series, which will eventually run to 10 episodes, has four episodes so far, in addition to three episodes so far recorded for the main Open Fire Podcast series – one of which was filmed and you can watch on YouTube below.

In the first instalment, Dave describes his trip to a comedy club and Tom has a crack at Dave’s “insanely hard quiz”.

Then in episode two the pair meet Danny White from Fire Door Consultants Ltd and Alfie Pitt from Shellen Security to discuss regs and fire door components. Alfie also has a crack at Dave’s quiz.

Number three sees Zoe Bond from Gerda join a chat about fire door tests, double-sided door issues and residents’ understanding and misunderstandings of fire doors.

And finally, in episode four, Tom and Dave discuss the requirements of fire doors, primary test evidence and global certification – joined again by Danny White and Alfie Pitt.

Kudos to Gerda and Shellen security for their contributions to this spin-off series.

You can subscribe to the Open Fire Podcast and downlaod episodes on iTunes.
