WATCH: Physical security products under siege in the LPCB Attack Testing Zone 2018

At IFSEC 2018 the LPCB subjected a range of security doors, perimeter fencing, shutters and covers to a barrage of attacks from hammers, wire cutters and other handheld tools.

The results, with some products emerging more or less unscathed and others giving way to repeated strikes, showed the profound differences between approved and unapproved versions of security products. The tests illustrated starkly the importance of procuring only approved security products and the risks if you don’t.

Technicians from the LPCB put non-approved products to the test alongside LPCB-approved alternatives that have achieved a minimum of LPS 1175 SR-3 compliance. The LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) was set up by certification body BRE Global.

Taking place between 19-21 June at London ExCeL the event once again drew large crowds after a successful IFSEC 2017.
