Manything to integrate video monitoring app with Hikvision R6 platform

Manything has been working with Hikvision to integrate its software with Hikvision R6 platform IP cameras in time for launch at IFSEC 2017.

Manything provides an instant cloud for network cameras, so users can watch live feeds, access stored footage from the cloud and remotely control cameras from the Manything app or web viewer.

“Manything provides a brilliant cloud storage solution which can work alongside the Hikvision NVR for additional back up,” said Jason Yang, Hikvision UK general manager.

Manything is also integrating its software with Axis cameras, which will launch later this year.

No port-forwarding

Manything automatically discovers compatible cameras on the network. One tap of the app adds Manything software to the camera in a set-up process that takes a few minutes, with no port-forwarding or router configuration.

Network cameras running the Manything software are non-discoverable and have UPnP and NAT disabled. The camera password is encrypted and is not transmitted outside the local network.

The Manything app is optimised to work in poor network conditions so if uplink is weak the app will adjust the recording specifications to ensure motion is still captured. Recorded events are saved in the cloud.

Manything can replace the need for an NVR/DVR or work alongside these devices for additional back up.

Depending on the subscription plan, footage stored in the cloud is accessible for varying amounts of time.

Manything is seeking partners to resell its cloud service for network cameras.

For national distributors, in some cases Manything will offer a white label version of the app and web viewer. Installers linked to the distributor can upload their branding and contact details so their end users see installer/distributor co-branding when they use the app.

Distributors will also have a branded web portal (or its API) to manage installer and end user accounts.

Regional installers who resell directly from Manything can upload their branding and contact details into the existing Manything app so their end users see installer/Manything co-branding. They’ll also have access to the Manything web portal to manage end user accounts.
