Fire Protection Panels help meet fire door standard

[

BASF has announced that its Palusol SW fire protection panels have been tested to withstand fire for 30 and 60 minutes, and that used as a sandwich panel in fire doors made with high-density firbreboard, can help meet the requirements of BS 476 (Part 22).

As well as the peace of mind afforded by the certification, BASF says that door manufacturers can also save development time and resources by foregoing the need to test their doors themselves. Palusol panels can be used as a sandwich system with high-density fiberboard (HDF), meaning that different types of doors can be produced and different fire protection stipulations can be met.

At temperatures above 100 degrees C, the panels are designed to expand under foaming pressure, giving rise to a fine cell, compression-resistant, non-flammable and thermally insulating foam.
