The free toolkit is based on original research, including over 50 in-depth interviews conducted by Perpetuity with both procurers and security personnel/security specialists1.

“Each section is self contained, full of tips and advice and is user-friendly,” explained Professor Martin Gill, director of Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International. “It’s comprehensive, too, incorporating key principles alongside good practice advice for each of the buying stages.”
Professor Gill went on to tell SMT Online: “Our own research revealed that both buyers and sellers of security often encounter problems with the procurement process. This project was developed to understand the key ‘pinch points’ and produce guidance based on the experience of those involved, as well as drawing upon good practice from around the world.”

Emerging from the Security Research Initiative
The toolkit has emerged from the Security Research Initiative, which is supported by the BSIA, ASIS and The Security Institute and is currently backed by leading companies Advance Security, Carlisle Security, Case, Caterpillar, E-on, Emprise, MITIE, the NSI, Nexen, OCS, Securitas, Standard Life, VSG and Wilson James.
