Metalmidi Hybrid causes a stir at Global MSC security seminar

The seminar was held at the Gosforth Park Marriott in Newcastle and, according to RapidVu, there were “serious enquiries” coming in “thick and fast” from local authorities, police forces and other law enforcement agencies looking to tackle the age old problems of crime and anti-social behaviour.

“Metalmidi was already being talked about before anyone saw it, so it’s no real surprise that there was a great deal of interest when we unveiled the concept for the first time in Newcastle,” explained Steve Reece, the managing director at RapidVu.

“However, we have been surprised by just how many people think that Metalmidi will offer such short-term benefits that they want to have the product on board as soon as possible.”

He added: “Through our combined decades of experience in the industry, we knew there was a demand for this type of solution. All the feedback we have had from the market so far tells us we made a great decision to launch it.”

A new addition to the already popular Metalmidi range is the new Hybrid product, which brings together the experience and intelligence of RapidVu and the combined power of its chosen technology partners Essential Viewing and the AD Group.

The rapidly deployable Metalmidi Hybrid is 3G/GPRS-enabled, offering 99% UK-wide coverage for a range of rapid deployment applications.

Proprietary DVR technology in use

Metalmidi Hybrid is fully equipped with AD’s proprietary DVR technology and Essential Viewing’s video streaming solutions technology, giving it “an unbeatable edge” in the fight against crime.

As ruggedised, directional cameras, models in the Metalmidi range are perfect for situations where the security needs to be tough and effective, yet at the same time both subtle and understated.

Metalmidi is multi-directional with an infrared capability, and includes a wiper for the camera eye (enabling it to operate in all weather conditions with no loss of effectiveness).

Headquartered in Manchester, RapidVu is already established as a key player in the supply of high performance CCTV systems, and its solutions are particularly suited to mobile applications.

Small, light, portable and flexible, RapidVu systems have established themselves as the perfect solution for locations where it’s problematic to specify more traditional forms of CCTV.

The company’s products are attracting interest from a wide customer base, including police, local authorities and ASBO teams, as well as from high profile individuals.

According to the company, the great strength of RapidVu’s Metalmidi system lies in enabling users to increase their surveillance resources while actually reducing costs.
