ASG, a subsidiary of the French Group Assystem, boasts annual sales of approximately MSEK 125 (14 million Euro). The company’s 400 employees specialise in providing security services to the energy sector.
Enterprise value is estimated to be MSEK 27 (which translates to three million Euro).
Securitas is the current market leader in security services in France, with approximately 20,000 employees. The acquisition of ASG sees Securitas become the leading player in the French private security market for energy customers.
This acquisition will be consolidated in Securitas AB as of 1 June 2011.
Expansion in the US primary Government security services market
The deal follows hot-on-the-heels of Securitas’ expansion in the US primary Government security services market.
Earlier this month, Paragon Systems Inc (a subsidiary of Pinkerton’s Government Services Inc within the Securitas Group) agreed to acquire the security services company Security Consultants Group Inc (SCG) in the USA.
In terms of this deal, the enterprise value was estimated to be MSEK 140 (US$22 million).
SCG has posted annual sales of approximately MSEK 670 (US$106 million). Approximately 2,000 employees are on the payroll.
The company is based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and operates across no less than 22 US States.
SCG specialises in providing high level armed security officer services to various US Government agencies and facilities protecting vital federal infrastructures, including US courthouses, federal buildings, federal offices and four Presidential libraries.
“SCG is one of the leading security services companies in the prime Government sector in the US,” explained Alf Goransson, president and CEO of the Securitas Group.
“This acquisition is very much in line with the Securitas Group’s specialisation strategy of acquiring high quality security providers that bring knowledge and experience from specialist customer segments.”
The acquisition was consolidated in Securitas AB as of 15 April.
Buy-out of Consultora Videco in Argentina
Securitas has also acquired the security services company Consultora Videco in Argentina. Enterprise value is estimated to be MSEK 262 (MARS 166).
With annual sales of approximately MSEK 263 (MARS 167) and 2,240 employees, Consultora Videco operates in the state of Buenos Aires.
The company is mainly focused on the provision of guarding solutions across many different customer segments.
Securitas is the market leader in security services in Argentina. With this acquisition, the company further strengthens its position in the area of Buenos Aires.
This acquisition was consolidated in Securitas AB as of 1 April.
Securitas enters the security services market in Ecuador
Following its strategy to expand in Latin America, back in February Securitas also acquired the security services company Seguridad y Turismo Segutouring Cia (SGT Seguridad), based in Ecuador.
Enterprise value was estimated at MSEK 12 (US$1.8 million).
SGT Seguridad has annual sales of approximately MSEK 61 (US$9 million) and approximately 900 employees. The company realises national coverage and is predominantly operational in the guarding sector.
There are around 600 security services companies in Ecuador. The security market there is estimated to be worth approximately MSEK 2,380 (US$350 million).
