Peter Jones
Following ten years service in the Hong Kong Police Force, Peter H. Jones returned to the UK in 1967 and embarked upon a career that has seen him become central to the professional development of the security industry. Employed in senior security capacities by major businesses until 1986, he has since then become widely known in the industry as a consultant, training advisor, investigator and author.
A former chairman and CEO of the International Professional Security Association, he is on the association’s Roll of Honour. He is a Fellow of the International Institute of Security and the Institute of Professional Investigators.
He has served voluntarily on many industry committees including the BSI’s on the security of warehouse and retail premises, the Independent Tripartite Committee on retail security training standards, the Home Office Crime Prevention Panel, the Security Industry Lead Body to establish NVQ standards for guards and investigators, the Joint Security Industry Council and the Security Industry Training Organisation.
He is the author of seven books and guides, specialising in retail security, and has published many articles on security and business efficiency.
As well as addressing conferences and training functions in the UK, he has shared his security expertise with audiences all over the world.
