The Security Institute: set to launch consultative Members’ Forum

Much has been written in the security press about the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Security Industry Authority (SIA), the formation of the new Security Alliance and the future of regulation across the security sector.

The Security Institute has now established itself as a valued and integral member of the new Security Alliance, and is determined to represent the views, hopes, comments and aspirations of its membership through the Alliance and on to the Regulator.

With this in mind, The Security Institute is about to launch an “exciting Members’ Forum” whereby all grades of Institute membership can have their say and express their views and hopes for the future of regulation, the SIA and the industry as a whole.

Institute member Mike White has agreed to act as chairman for the Members’ Forum, and will ensure that the views of the membership are accurately reported back to the main Board.

Book your place at the meeting

The launch of the new Forum takes place on 19 January at 6.00 pm. The venue is Westminster City Hall, and all Institute members are invited to attend the meeting.

Both Mike White and The Security Institute’s chairman Mike Bluestone will be present to answer questions and brief members on developments thus far.

Members are asked to confirm attendance directly to Mike White via e-mail (mjwhite20@btinternet.com) by no later than 5.00 pm on 17 January.

Any Institute members unable to attend but who wish to make a comment or raise a matter for discussion can also contact Mike White.

Dates for subsequent Members’ Forum meetings will be announced shortly, while full details of all Forum matters will also be posted (and regularly updated) on The Security Institute’s website (access the dedicated link on the right hand panel of this page)
