Tyco aims for system integration

Tyco Integrated Systems aims to be a UK market leader in the design, planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of major integrated security, surveillance and communications projects. Its key installation targets public and complex buildings, traffic and transport management, town centres, shopping and retail centres, passenger terminals, conference centres and sports stadiums.
The new company combines the strengths of Philips Projects and Orbis Security Systems, both of which have been involved in high profile projects – among them the BNFL site in Sellafield and London’s Guildhall Yard East complex.
Initially, Tyco Integrated Systems will focus on combining CCTV, access control, PA systems, telecoms, radio paging, congress and conferencing systems.
The company is also expecting to roll out systems to customers with multiple sites nationwide – supermarket retail chains being a good case in point.
Phill Ford, previously managing director of Philips Projects, is head of the new company, which employs 250 staff and is based in Cambridge.
