Surveillance storage specialist Veracity has acquired iComply (I-Comply Ltd), the Leeds-based provider of integrated command and control security software.
Veracity, which now takes control of all iComply staff, software, intellectual property and ongoing business, including its sales and support subsidiary in India, will maintain iComply as a separate business and relocate its operations to new, larger premises, also in Leeds.
iComply has delivered integrated solutions through its VTAS Pro platform to clients including London’s Tower Bridge, Boots UK, ITV, the 2014 G20 Summit and Leeds City Council.
The company’s modular software solution supports technologies from a range of access control, CCTV, fire, alarm and other security equipment vendors, including Bosch, Honeywell, Paxton, Axis, Hanwha Techwin, Milestone and Veracity themselves.
“We have worked with iComply on a number of major projects and its innovative technology has proven itself adept at integrating with a wide range of systems to deliver control rooms that are more efficient and reliable,” says Alastair McLeod, Veracity’s group CEO.
“With this acquisition, we extend our technical capability and broaden our target market. We will progress the iComply concept to the next level while maintaining an independent and multi-vendor approach which is at the core of its unique value.”
Complex workflows
iComply’s VTAS is an advanced modular integration platform that aggregates visual information received from IP and deployable CCTV cameras, and features interactive maps and incident management functions. Complex workflows can be dynamically processed and shared with appropriate team members.
VTAS Pro modular components also include alarm receiving, dispatch, guard tour, incident management, asset tracking and lone worker – all integrated within an advanced management reporting engine to ensure compliance with regulatory, best practice and audit requirements.

Neil Harvey, head of CCTV and security at Nottingham City Council, has worked closely with iComply for its control centre requirements for more than 10 years.
“Our use of VTAS Pro has been pivotal in allowing us to deliver a comprehensive command and control system with an inherent flexibility that has allowed us to adapt to new requirements while minimising the challenges of technology integration,” he says.

Michael Gallagher will remain in charge of business development at iComply, but will also lead sales, support and operations. “The iComply team are immensely pleased with the acquisition, as this will enable iComply to accelerate both its sales and software development plans with the support and backing of Veracity,” he says.
The acquisition of iComply surpports Veracity’s ambition – one shared by many players in the security tech market – to deliver fully integrated end-to-end solutions.
Headquartered in Prestwick, Scotland, Veracity is perhaps best known for its COLDSTORE surveillance storage system and TRINITY, a unique system architecture that eliminates NVR servers by allowing IP cameras to record directly to COLDSTORE disk arrays.
Veracity also offers IP transmission products designed for IP video, including ethernet-over-coax adaptors, network extenders and long-range wired Ethernet transceivers, all with POE; and master NTP time servers, IP camera installation tools, and POE network switches, including 12/24V versions for vehicle applications.
Veracity also provides system information and status monitoring with the goal of simplifying management of larger surveillance systems, thereby reducing training costs.
