Major CCTV Player Speaks: IFSEC the Only Choice

On the cusp of 2014, the year IFSEC International relocates to London, Y3K has thrown its support behind the show.

As reported last week in What Our Installers Told Us About IFSEC International, 75% of the IFSEC International audience feel travel to London will be more convenient than it had been to Birmingham. Y3K’s continued support acts as a further bolster to the show’s decision to move.

As reported in Professional Security, Paul Singh, CEO at the Y3K Group, a UK manufacturer and distributor of HD CCTV systems, said:

We had the option of participating in both IFSEC and a newly launched event, which is being held just one month earlier. As part of the decision-making process, I spoke with many industry colleagues and customers and asked them, firstly, if the industry needs two shows that are essentially in the same space and, secondly, if they would visit one, both or neither. The result was clear and IFSEC was the conclusive winner.

Support from such a major player in the CCTV space at a time when a potential competitor event is launching shows how the security industry is reacting to changes in the event landscape.

I spoke this morning with Simon Mills, Portfolio Director at UBM responsible for IFSEC, who told me:

We are naturally delighted to welcome the exclusive and continued support from Y3K. It is great to hear how the market is assessing and choosing which event to support, and this of course further backs up the heritage of IFSEC and our exciting London plans.
