The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the regulatory body for all UK civil aviation activity, is to host a ‘drone clinic’ as part of the hugely popular Drone Zone demonstration area at IFSEC International 2018.
The CAA clinic will provide information and advice around drone regulations to the event’s 27,000 visitors next June.
Detecting and assessing security threats with drones remotely allows companies to remove risk to human personnel and in some scenarios tackle threats more quickly and appropriately. The commercial market for drones and UAVs is now estimated at over $700m.
However, are plenty of documented cases where both commercial and consumer drones have infringed upon restricted airspace and aircraft flight paths, posing significant safety and security risks.
The CAA Drone Clinic at IFSEC will provide a point for clear, jargon-free information on must-know drone regulations for both security professionals already using drones and those considering the adoption of this cutting-edge technology.
The Drone Zone takes place within Borders & Infrastructure Expo, within IFSEC 2018.
