WATCH: ‘Touchless’ access control and deep learning video analytics showcased at IFSEC 2019

IDEMIA, a global leader in security and ‘augmented identity’ solutions, showcased two ground-breaking products at IFSEC 2019, between 18-20 June, at ExCeL London.

The company’s marketing manager for biometric devices, Roland Bely, spoke to IFSEC Global in the run-up to the show about “an access control reader with no equivalent on the market” and a video analytics application that harnesses deep learning algorithms and biometric data.

These innovations are also discussed in two videos below, filmed on the show floor at Europe’s largest annual integrated security event.

First, Matthew Insley, director of sales for biometric terminals at IDEMIA, showcases MorphoWave Compact. To gain access, you just wave your hand over the product’s sensor. A contactless reader captures four fingerprints simultaneously and compares fingerprint data with the data previously stored in the system, granting or denying access accordingly.

Patented touchless 3D acquisition technology means MorphoWave Compact captures more fingerprint data than conventional contact sensors – not just ridges but also surface, shape and curvature of fingers. This leads to higher accuracy, says the company.

Augmented Vision

Craig Cairley, marketing product manager at IDEMIA, speaks to IFSEC TV about Augmented Vision in the video below.

Launched shortly before IFSEC 2019, Augmented Vision supports security officers in identifying persons of interest in real-time and can accelerate  post-event investigations. Powered by deep learning algorithms, the platform is likely to attract interest from transport, stadiums and arenas, retail and commercial buildings, plus gaming and entertainment sites, among other high security environments.
