HID Global recently announced the opening of its new design centre in Chennai.
Designed for comprehensive product development the facility has an estimated 10,000 square feet dedicated to R&D.
The facility boasts of state-of-the-art technology designed to provide highest delivery performance and product quality standards. With the advent of this new facility HID Global is also expecting to cut down on marketing time for new products while speeding up inclusion of new features and capabilities in product development initiatives.
The validation and verification service for all electronic and software products and services shall also be carried out from this facility only. The centre is expected to become fully functional by the fourth quarter of 2015, with its focus mainly on government ID, physical access and portal/cloud-based solutions, embedded, web and mobile application software engineering development.
The design centre team will also receive inputs from engineering centres in Europe and United States and work in tandem with them on various product developments and customer-centric solutions.
“The new center in Chennai is a critical part of HID Global’s long term growth strategy in emerging markets,” said Darren Learmonth, Global Vice President, Engineering, at the access control leader. “It will also play a vital role in developing key secure identity technologies across HID Global’s business portfolio.”
