PSIM explained

PSIM, or Physical Security Information Management is a software platform which integrates security applications and devices and control them through one interface.

PSIM applies experience from the software and network security industries to the physical security market to optimize device integration, analysis and end-to-end situation management and resolution.

PSIM software provides a platform and applications that collect and correlate events from existing disparate security devices and information systems (video, access control, sensors, analytics, networks, building systems, etc) to empower personnel to identify and proactively resolve situations.

The result is lower risk, increased security, faster response to situations, better compliance with policies, and lower operational costs.

A complete PSIM software system has five key capabilities:

1. Collection:Device management independent softwarecollects data from any number of disparate security devices or systems.

2. Analysis:The system analyzes and correlates the data, events, and alarms, to identify the real situations and their priority.

3. Verification:PSIM software presents the relevant situation information in a quick and easily-digestible format for an operator to verify the situation.

4. Resolution:The system provides Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), step-by-step instructions based on best practices and an organization’s policies, and tools to resolve the situation.

5. Reporting:The PSIM software tracksall the information and steps for compliance reporting, trainingand potentially, in-depth investigative analysis.

PSIM provides complete situation awareness to effectively manage any security, business-related, or emergency situation in real-time – across any industry.

True PSIM solutions enableone complete and intelligent security system by aggregating information from various systems (both physical and IT security)and automating processes to effectively manage situations and initiate the most appropriate response.
