ABLOY CUMULUS – a new platform for keyless access

The new ABLOY CUMULUS platform for keyless access combines quality locking hardware with secure access and management applications. CUMULUS products launched to date include padlocks, a controller and a key deposit, along with a mobile app and backend. The platform is ideal for professional end-users in businesses such as parcel delivery, cash-in-transit, self-service operations and construction.

Abloy-Cumulus-23Abloy Oy has announced ABLOY CUMULUS, a platform for keyless access, combining quality hardware products with secure access and management applications. It brings all the solutions together into a single ecosystem with a reliable, integrated cloud service.

“CUMULUS is our next step in the ‘keyvolution’ — the development in which mechanical keys are transforming into digital ones. We have wrapped our more than 100 years of security expertise into digital solutions for connected access management,” said Jussi Ahvalo, Vice President, International Sales, Abloy Oy.

The key to keyless access

The world is becoming keyless, access rights are going digital, and customers want everything to be integrated. Many property owners and managers are planning to switch to access management that is seamlessly location-independent, while securing all their keyless access points.

CUMULUS ensures secure access in commercial real estate, public spaces, housing and sites essential for the functioning of society. It offers interfaces for third-party applications and software development. The CUMULUS range of keyless, online access solutions — from mobile keys, padlocks, controllers and key deposits to upcoming swing handles and door locks — can thus be administered with any software tool that best suits the customers’ needs.

“CUMULUS minimises management risks and provides a secure, compatible and evolving access platform for our customer organisations. It is a cloud service for modern security management. With CUMULUS we provide continuously up-to-date, data-secure access management products and software,” said Jussi Ahvalo.

Integrability to other business systems opens new business opportunities and customer experiences

CUMULUS is targeted at commercial and professional end-users (PEU). In the first phase its primary vertical markets are parcel and postal deliveries, finance (cash-in-transit), office spaces, self-service operations and construction. Geographically, CUMULUS is available in select markets. More markets will be added gradually.

The first CUMULUS-branded products available for customers include padlocks, a controller, a key deposit, a mobile application, a cloud-based software engine (backend) and application programming interfaces (APIs). The APIs allow integrations to third-party applications such as booking, reporting, resource management and access control systems. New products will continuously be added to the CUMULUS range.
