Neil Ashdown is General Manager of the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) which is delivered by the BWF-CERTIFIRE Scheme and the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) and aims to transform knowledge and understanding about the critical role of fire doors and how they can save lives and protect property. Neil started his career in the timber and joinery industry specialising in fire doors. In 2003 he founded a fire door manufacturing company working within the scope of the BWF Certifire third party certification scheme. He holds the FDIS Diploma in fire doors and is also a Certificated Fire Door Inspector.
