Identity solutions developer HID Global has extended its HID goID mobile identity management solution for deploying and managing mobile citizen ID programmes.From issuance to verification, HID goID provides an end-to-end solution backed by robust data security standards comparable with physical electronic ID (eID) programmes.

Off-the-shelf data structures mean governments can issue mobile passports that aid compliance with the digital travel credentials being developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). They can also issue mobile driver’s licences that will help them comply with ISO18013-5 specifications being developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
HID goID will also help governments transition from paper or electronic documents to mobile IDs, streamlining proof of identity issuance via over-the-air provisioning directly to citizens’ phones. Privacy is protected by end-to-end encryption and four layers of anti-fraud security mechanisms.
Citizens can control what verification data they share and with whom. Post-issuance technologies keep mobile IDs up to date and verification can be performed from distances up to 66 feet (20 metres).

HID goID says issuing authorities can easily bring other government agencies and authorised private-sector entities into its ecosystem.
