CSL Appoints Ed Heale as New Managing Director

Ed Heale has been appointed managing director of alarm signalling provider CSL.

Heale joins founder and group managing director Simon Banks, CEO Phil Hollett and FD David Doble on the CSL board.

CSL – formerly CSL DualCom – is a market leader in machine-to-machine and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions in the security and healthcare sectors. CSL sees Heale as being well equipped to steer CSL’s expansion and development into a full-service IoT company. Formerly at the helm of BT’s enterprise division and SME Ventures he brings a wealth of experience of guiding businesses through rapid growth.

“CSL holds a leadership position in providing critical connectivity for the fire and security sector and is a pioneer of machine-to-machine connectivity,” says Heale. “Our aim is to use our expertise to grow into new sectors whilst improving our service offering in existing markets.

“We’ve kicked off a range of strategic projects including the launch of the new look GradeShift range and DigiAir Connected in conjunction with our CSL Connected partners. We’re currently building out our M2M/ IoT capabilities and will be launching a range of new solutions in Q3/Q4 this year.”

CSL pioneered DualCom alarm signalling units to deliver alarms and data from premises to alarm receiving centres (ARCs). The company provides critical connectivity for nearly half a million M2M devices throughout Europe.

CSL also sponsors the Engineers of Tomorrow competition, a security installation competition for apprentices that takes place annually at IFSEC International. Engineers of Tomorrow competition gave rise to the 100 in 100 initiative six years ago. Now called Apprentices for Fire and Security this initiative targets the placement of 100 security apprentices in 100 days.
