While the current pandemic has resulted in thousands of cancelled fundraising events, Aico is continuing to raise funds for local charity, The Movement Centre, having joined the UK-wide 2.6 challenge.
Having commenced on Sunday 26 April in place of the usual London marathon, challenges are all designed to relate to the numbers, 2’ and ‘6’, to suit all ages and abilities. The team at Aico have taken on myriad challenges from completing 26 laps of the Trim Trail at the firm’s HQ, cycling and running miles to danceathons and baking.
Every Aico employee has joined in, with some even involving their children in challenges of baking 26 cinnamon swirls and eating them in 2.6 hours, doing 260 lunges or accompanying their parents on part of their cycling challenge.
Neal Hooper, Managing Director of Aico comments “We are really pleased to be supporting The Movement Centre through the national 2.6 Challenge, and colleagues and I are putting ourselves through some entertaining and tough challenges. More than ever we need to pull together to raise as much money as possible for our charities.”
The Movement Centre is an Oswestry-based charity dedicated to supporting children with movement disabilities and their families. They deliver specially developed Targeted Training therapy, enabling children to learn new skills and gain independence which helps to change their lives.
