Advanced publishes fire protection brochure aimed at historic or heritage sites

Fire systems manufacturer Advanced has released a guide offering fire protection advice to historic and heritage sites.

Relevant to specifiers, installers and persons responsible for fire safety management, the new brochure offers solutions to the unique, often formidable challenges posed by buildings that are sometimes hundreds of years old.

How to assure orderly, safe evacuation and eliminating unwanted alarms are among the issues tackled in ways that minimise the visual or auditory disruption to the experience of tourists ad visitors.

Advanced has pedigree in the protection of historic buildings. Its systems are installed in Hagia Sophia, Istanbul; Durham Cathedral; The Magna Carta at Lincoln Castle; Iona Abbey; the Natural History Museum and Trinity Episcopal Church, Rhode Island.

“Historic structures present unique challenges, but innovation is delivering significant choice and performance gains.” Aston Bowles, head of marketing, Advanced

“Advanced systems are protecting some of the most famous and valuable heritage and cultural assets worldwide,” said Aston Bowles, head of marketing at Advanced. “Historic structures present unique challenges for the fire system industry, but innovation is delivering significant choice and performance gains for end users, specifiers and responsible people in the sector.

“The new brochure aims to offer insight into the sector and the solutions that can be used.”

Advanced fire systems, which have a raft of EN and UL approvals, are specified in wide range of environments around the world, from single-panel installations to large, multi-site networks. Advanced products include complete fire detection systems, multi-protocol fire panels, extinguishing control, fire paging and false alarm management systems.
