Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

The Fire Industry Manufacturer’s Expo (FIM Expo), coming to Reading Madejski Stadium on 3 April 2019, will feature some new developments and have a bigger focus on innovation and compliance.

New for 2019 is a compliance and membership section, where visitors will be able to learn about BAFE schemes at the BAFE stand, and find out more about the benefits of FIA membership at the FIA’s (Fire Industry Association’s) stand.

“FIA Membership provides discounts on training and qualifications, as well as excellent networking opportunities, and the chance to be involved in technical groups to meet other professionals in the sector,” explained membership manager, Chris Tilley, who will be on hand at the show to answer any FIA Membership questions.

“For those that would like to know how to become a member, BAFE will also be attending the show so you can ask about third party certification – our membership criteria – and the schemes they run to become certified.”

Exhibitors include Advanced, Xtralis, Hochiki, Kentec, Eaton, Everlux, and Nittan

In addition, a range of exhibitors from across the fire protection industry will be displaying their latest products, showcasing their latest innovations. Exhibitors include Advanced, Xtralis, Hochiki, Kentec, Eaton, Everlux, and Nittan amongst others, who will all be delighted to welcome visitors and discuss their latest products in the relaxed and informal setting of the show. A full list of exhibitors is available on the FIM Expo website.

FIM Expo will also be hosting two free CPD accredited seminars.

The first seminar, ‘BS 5939-1: 2017 – What’s Changed?’ at 10am, will be presented by Don Scott from Siemens, and FIA Member company.  Don Scott sits on many of the FIA councils and working groups and has an excellent technical working knowledge of the subject.

The second seminar, held at 1pm, will be presented by the FIA’s membership manager, Chris Tilley. ‘The Future of Qualifications in Fire Detection and Alarms’ will look at the current qualifications available from the FIA and the benefits of gaining qualifications in this area – both now and in the years to come.

FIM Expo is open from 8.30am for early morning breakfast meetings, with free parking available and complimentary refreshments and a buffet throughout the day.

Entry is free, but online registration is recommended to skip the queues on the day.
