Find out below about Hochiki Europe’s latest range of linear heat detectors, which has just launched.
You could be among the first to check them out at FIREX International in June.
The product: Hochiki Europe has launched a new range of Linear Heat Detection (LHD) equipment to provide specialist high-precision heat detection over large distances, in challenging environments. The LHD System is designed to provide early detection of fire and overheating in environments where other forms of detection would not be viable.
Technical features:
LHD range offers both analogue and conventional products.
The conventional Linear Heat Detection Cable (LHDC) is able to identify zones during a fire.
Addressable LHDC can isolate heat to within one metre, giving facility owners and managers time to deal with outbreaks before infrastructure or equipment sustains damage.
So long as LHDC hasn’t been subjected to excessive temperatures, alarm condition can be reset at zonal controller during annual maintenance.
Accommodates cabling up to two kilometres
Pitched at deployment in range of applications, from road and rail tunnels to conveyor systems, indoor car parks and cable trays in building interiors. Also recycling and food processing plants, as heat detection abilities are tolerant of dust and vapour build-up, unlike standard equipment.
Infrared transit heat detectors designed to monitor temperature of a conveyor belt and for use in manufacturing facilities.
What Hochiki Europe says about the new range of LHDs: “Large, but enclosed spaces, like tunnels and car parks, or even production lines, present particular challenges for property owners when it comes to fire safety,” says David Brown, product manager at Hochiki Europe.
“The sheer volume of space that has to be monitored can be an issue for standard equipment, while the build-up of dust or other contaminants in the air can lead to false alarms.
“With solutions like the LHD range, facility owners can do more than simply ensure they have complete and reliable coverage of their sites.
“The systems’ ability to pinpoint incidents means they can act quickly to prevent fires spreading, protecting vital equipment and structural supports from harm. In doing so, they can be confident that building occupants and the site are safe from fire.”
About Hochiki Europe: Founded in Tokyo nearly a century ago Hochiki is a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative life-safety solutions. Hochiki Europe, which generates sales of more than £400m, has more than 1,500 employees across five manufacturing plants, 32 sales offices and 18 subsidiaries.
