Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

IFSEC 2018

IFSEC International news: Security summits and masterclasses from Cityforum and London First announced

Cityforum and London First are co-hosting two half-day security summits to coincide with the London IFSEC exhibition in June this year, adding further authoritative impetus to Europe’s largest annual security trade show.

The agendas for the two morning summits are designed to address threats and responses in a number of key areas with which the UK and others are now grappling.

Perhaps most importantly, it has been designed to develop rational and potential lines of action in response to the safety, security and resiliency consequences of many developments at the heart of the ‘Fourth Industrial

Revolution.’

These developments are set to have a significant impact on the nature of society by 2030.

Agenda

The agenda will look at a range of topics, including the brain-machine interface, where AI will be a decade hence, and the revolution in quantum computing.  They will assess the impact of big data on the way cities are run and discuss ways to keep citizens safe and prosperous, but also free to enjoy the open society of 2030.

Participation in the summits and the associated Masterclasses will provide a unique opportunity to listen to and question leading figures from science, technology, law enforcement, intelligence and security, business, academia, the media, politics and administration.

Optimism over the future has declined in recent years – as has trust and confidence in the way that the UK and other countries are governed.  The rankings of the various significant Trust Barometers are discouraging. They may well worsen, but they certainly still have the potential to improve under a determined effort to restore confidence.

These Summits will assess how improvements may be implemented to make life better for the citizen as an individual, whether in the community or on the move, and how citizens and companies alike can make themselves more resilient to shocks and stresses.

Gerry Dunphy, brand director, IFSEC international, said: “We’re delighted to be working with London First and Cityforum on what is a defining moment for IFSEC.

“London First and Cityforum have proven experience in organising high level conferences, attracting a formidable range of speakers and influential leaders from the security sector”

“As we’re positioning the event to be a leading voice in the global security discussion, we need to have strategic partnerships with organisations who can be part of the delivery of this agenda. Both London First and Cityforum have proven and successful experience in organising high level conferences and summits, attracting a formidable range of speakers and influential leaders from the security sector.’’

Both the summits and the masterclasses will provide scope for discussion of business opportunities and partnership agreements in the domestic and overseas contexts, offering event attendees and exhibitors alike an invaluable chance to use expert insight to gain a tangible commercial advantage.
