The awards were supported by IFSEC International and FIREX International – the largest annual security and fire safety shows in Europe – as well as headline sponsors First Response Group and I.S.A Support Services. Other partners included Axis Communications (Sustainability Partner), Bidvest Noonan, Zitko Group, LMG, HID Global and SSGC.
While the 2020 event was forced to take place online in a virtual setting due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year enabled the event to return in full force in a face-to-face environment.
Magician, Ben Hanlin – best known for presenting ITV2’s Tricked and finishing in fourth place on 2020’s Dancing on Ice – played host for the night, while 1966 World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst also made a guest appearance to present Company Lockdown Hero of the Year and the new Champion of Champions Award.
Engineers of Tomorrow finalists in action!
To kick things off, the event also showcased the future of the industry, with winners of the highly respected Engineers of Tomorrow (EoT) competition being recognised. The event, which covers security and fire, highlights the best of the next generation of systems installers from across the UK, while the electronic security systems competition also acts as the sole mechanism to represent the industry at WorldSkills UK.
Regional heats of next year’s competition will once again take place between January and March 2020. The top apprentices will then proceed to the next stage, taking place at IFSEC International in May.
Winners will be officially announced on Friday 26th November, so keep your eyes peeled!
