The awards, which took place at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London, starred Cold Feet actor James Nesbitt.
The event was supported by IFSEC International and FIREX International – the largest annual security and fire shows in Europe respectively – as well as SiX, the forthcoming Manchester event for security installers. SiX is hosted by Pro-Activ, publishers of PSi, Benchmark and Risk UK magazines, taking place at Event City in Manchester on 5-6 November 2019.
Before the Excellence Awards kicked off Pat Allen of Abel Alarm Company Ltd won the Peter Greenwood Security Award, courtesy of the Fire & Security Association (FSA), for outstanding contribution to the security systems industry. Pat has been instrumental in bringing the industry together in developing, testing and implementing a new apprenticeship standard for fire, emergency and security apprentices.
Kevin Griffin, of Logic Systems Fire and Security Ltd, won the Ian Marsh Fire Award for enthusiasm and selfless concern for the fire and emergency systems industry. Kevin has earned a strong reputation in Scotland for helping to improve standards within the fire industry.

“Both Kevin and Pat have been fantastic servants to industry over the years, through their continued efforts to improve standards and bring more young people into the sector,” said FSA chair Tom Brookes.
