Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

Anglia Tools returns to IFSEC International in June as its exclusive partner for the Tool Zone, where visitors can sample a variety of hand and power tools, many at discounted prices.

The Tool Zone will now form part of Show Me How, a new theme underpinning the ethos of IFSEC 2018, developed in response to feedback from visitors. Asked how we could improve the show, security professionals frequently began their reply with “Show me…”

With IFSEC only a few weeks away, IFSEC Global caught up with Ian Thacker, group manager of Anglia Tool Centre, a supplier of DIY power tools, selling a wide range of top brands online across the UK.

IFSEC Global: Can you tell us a bit about who Anglia Tool Centre are and what you do?

Ian Thacker: Anglia Tool Centre is an established, specialist supplier of power tools to the trade.

“We want installers to bring their power tool requirements, which we will quote on the stand with a view to offering savings and providing the right tool for the job.”

We’re not involved in any DIY tools; it’s all trade-rated products aimed at general builders, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, security installers – we have a wide product range to suit the requirements of any trade operation. Our aim is to give the trade the right tools for the job.

We opened in East Anglia with one showroom and we now have nine standalone showrooms as well as a heavy online presence, accounts facility, contracts business etc…

So we’ve come quite a long way, establishing a national presence and brand, and we’re always looking for new opportunities to continue expanding in the coming years.

IG: What are your plans for IFSEC this year?

IT: We’re attending IFSEC as the only tools supplier at the show. We’ll be there with products from some of the leading manufacturers – the likes of Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee – and we’ll have live demonstrations throughout the event where installers can get hands on with the latest power tools on the market.

IG: Sounds great. What can installers expect from visiting your stand?

IT: Our aim is to build relationships with security installers and become their supplier of choice for their power tool and accessory requirements.

We want installers to come to the show with lists of their power tool requirements, which we will quote on the stand with a view to offering savings and providing the right tool for the job.

They’ll also have an opportunity to sign up to our loyalty scheme called ATC rewards, which gives them discounts and money to spend on tools when they recommend us to friends, colleagues, relatives etc.

IG: What new tool innovations should installers be aware of?

IT: We’ll be featuring the very latest product innovations including Makita AVT, Milwaukee 2nd Gen, Dewalt Flexvolt, Tool Connect and more – which we will be discussing on our stand. Power tool manufacturers continue to innovate and create new machines that give the user more power, in a smaller and smaller package.

IG: I think that covers it, anything else you’d like to add?

IT: We have fun on the stand, we’re friendly, so come and give us a visit! Everyone likes to get hands on with the power tools and see the latest technology for themselves so we try and create a nice, fun environment to make it a pleasant experience for the visitor.
