The Converged Security Centre in full swing on day one of IFSEC 2023

What’s new at IFSEC 2023?

New to this year’s show is the Distributor Network, so be sure to catch up with your favourite partners throughout the day. 11 of the UK’s leading distributors will have stands located throughout the show, including: ADI Global, CIE-Group, COP UK, DTS.Solutions, DVS, Dynamic CCTV, Mast Digital, Nimans, PureTech and Security Dynamics!

This year’s charity partner is Mates in Mind, and the mental health charity will have a team based on the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) stand to pop in and speak to all three days.

Find out more about the work Mates in Mind does in the wider construction sector, and what support it can offer your business as we make sure that mental health is a priority in the sector.

The IFSEC Tech Talks Theatre is also new this year as content returns to the show floor.

The Theatre will feature exclusive sessions covering everything from behavioural analysis solutions, through to insight into the intruder alarm and video surveillance markets from expert presenters and analysts.

Tech Talks Theatre – what’s on today?

But what’s going on today, you ask? There are still two presentations you can catch on the last day of the show, covering:

  • 10:45 – Code of Practice for installers
  • 11:30 – Benefits of engaging security consultants with an engineering background for projects within the built environment

The usual suspects… Converged security centre, Engineers of Tomorrow and LPCB Attack Testing Zone return!

The ever-popular show floor features have been back for 2023.

Presentations on the converged security centre, which has featured more content than ever this year, continue for the final day with a presentation on Identity Access Management.

David King will present how the convergence of access and identities has evolved and explore some of the technologies available in the market, which enable convergence, with a particular focus on multi occupancy smart buildings.

Expert insights will come from Jason Shaw and Alan Jenkins (Decipher Cyber Consulting Partners).

There will also be a presentation from the BSIA, which will focus on how converged security operations centres can better mitigate risk and achieve holistic risk management principles.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to head over to the most popular feature of the show – the LPCB attack testing zone. The BRE team will once again be putting approved products up to the scrutiny of LPS 1175 forced entry tests, highlighting the critical difference between approved and non-approved products.

Today’s tests will feature products from:

  • Eagle Automation Systems (11:00-11:30)
  • Frontier Pitts (12:30-13:00)

Engineers of Tomorrow also returns! Be sure to check out the next generation of fire and security systems installers battling it out all day at the Engineers of Tomorrow finals for a place at WorldSkills UK.

Aside from all this, associations like the BSIA, SSAIB, NSI and Security Institute will all have lots going on at their stands, while there are hundreds of exhibitors to get round and catch up with!

And don’t forget, there’s plenty to see in the other co-located events, with your free ticket giving access to FIREX, Safety & Health Expo and Facilities Show – all of which feature a great selection of content and networking sessions in their own right!
