If UK engineering suffers from a dearth of talent then the security sector is hardly immune.During IFSEC 2015 I spoke to Brett Ennals, CEO of Fire and Security Jobs, to discover how they are helping to reduce the skills shortage facing the industry.

“We started the business in 2005 having been in the fire risk industry in engineering and sale roles and then decide to start recruitment business,” said Brett Ennals, who felt that too often recruitment firms that operated across a breadth of sectors were not meeting the needs of security and fire-safety firms.
“We saw a gap in market for a knowledge-based recruiter in a service industry and we decide to get straight to fill it.”

He also add that this decision and approach is “a long-term plan to relieve this skill shortage in the security industry, which is a huge problem”.
