FIREX International and IFSEC International have partnered with independent security and fire training organisations and manufacturers, such as British Security Industry Association (BSIA), Fire Industry Association (FIA), Security Systems Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), National Security Inspectorate (NSI), and Skills for Security to deliver an exclusive CPD-accredited programme of on-site and digital training, and career development: IFSEC & FIREX Training.

On-site training will be delivered between 17-18 May during UK’s largest fire and security event, where you will learn about technological innovations which meet new industry codes and standards that you should be aware of and prepare you for FESS ECS Systems Operative test.

Online training is available right now for those looking to upskill on a range of specialisms which is delivered through a mixture of pre-recorded content, course notes, activities, and assessments that you can complete in your own time.

It is an innovative way to stay ahead in career development, helping you refresh your knowledge and add new skills that you may otherwise miss out on.

To support installers and fill the skills gap within the industry, IFSEC & FIREX International will now, for the first time, offer dedicated training sessions to ensure you remain on top of the latest practices in the sector. IFSEC & FIREX International will be hosting a full programme of CPD-accredited in-person training sessions, designed specifically for the security and fire installer community. Our training courses will adhere to the improved competency standards and updated CPD requirements as well as helping you build your expertise.

All participants will receive proof of attendance for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) records – a key requirement of the updated ECS cards renewal scheme

On-site Training Programme

Day 1 – 17 May | 9:30 AM

Introduction to Fire Detection & Alarms by Fire Industry Association (FIA)

This course gives delegates.a grounding in the requirements of BS5839 part 1 which is essential for anyone working in fire detection and alarms in non-domestic premises

Cyber Security by Hikvision 

This course will cover the basics of cybersecurity, cybersecurity in the physical security world, privacy & compliance and best practice for all fire and security engineers.

ECS Systems Operative – Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) by Skills for Security 

This course will be sufficient to prepare engineers for taking the FESS ECS Systems Operative test to obtain their card. On completion of the course each delegate will receive an electronic voucher which they can use to book the test to complete in their own time in the comfort of their home.

Description: Courses delivered by independent security and fire training organisations (such as Skills for Security, Tavcom Training, and FIA, which will be vendor agnostic)

Price: £49+VAT for each course. Welcome refreshments and lunch vouchers are included in the price.

Duration: 4-6 hours for each course to ensure you receive an appropriate level of training, while also allowing for plenty of time to speak to suppliers and catch up with your peers on the event floor.

Digital Service Masterclass by Texecom

This course looks at the benefits of cloud technology over software based platforms including alarm signalling and integrated apps.

Optical Fibre Overview and Fusion Splicing Workshop by Tavcom

This is where you get hands on with Optical Fibre, we’ll get you preparing and stripping optical fibre (removing the protective polymer coating) in preparation for fusion splicing, then using a fusion splicer to join the fibres together to create the strongest, most reliable permanent fibre joint with the lowest loss possible.

Introduction to fire doors and fire protection in buildings by Warringtonfire

This course is designed to provide an introduction to fire doors, including manufacture, testing, installation and certification and essential guidance for those responsible for the fire protection measures in their buildings.

Description: Courses delivered by manufacturers – these will be vetted by an independent consultant to ensure the quality of training is of a high standard. The sessions, from the likes of Texecom, and Hikvision, will also look at technological innovations which meet new industry codes and standards that you should be aware of.
