Magenta Security Services slashes energy usage by 75%

Magenta Security Services, the first manned guarding company in the UK to be awarded ISO:14001 in 2001, has reduced its energy usage by 75%.

Magenta has installed energy efficiency measures and technologies at its head office to raise its energy efficiency rating to a C level. The company has also installed solar panels and a new heating system. Its employees drive hybrid or fully electric vehicles.

Reducing energy usage and increasing efficiency is a long-term process. Magenta says it aims to reduce energy usage by 90%.

Magenta Security has its head office in Hounslow, with operations in Swindon, Birmingham, Manchester and Kent. Clients include the Ministry of Defence, Diageo and Transport for London.

“We only have one planet and businesses need to appreciate what is possible,” said Abbey Petkar, managing director of Magenta Security.  “My team has worked tirelessly over the last 15 years to achieve and maintain ISO:14001.

“We have time and again sought new ways to reduce our energy consumption and be the industry frontrunner in our commitment to the environment.”
