Download this free eBook from IFSEC Global, as we compile answers from leading vendors on the major threats, challenges and opportunities in access control.
The world of physical access control is transforming. A sector that onlookers may previously have viewed as rudimentary locks and chains to prevent easy access to a site, is now playing an increasingly fundamental role in the security and facility management processes of organisations and residences across the globe.
Technology, as ever, has played the chief role in this development. IP hardware, wireless locks, cloud-based software management tools, biometrics and integration with other smart building applications are all factors security, facility and building managers must now consider when procuring new solutions. Installers, integrators and consultants too, have to make sure they’re on top of these trends to ensure they’re not left behind.
In this eBook from IFSEC Global, we seek to clarify some of the key themes from those pioneering the transformation access control has undergone over the past five to 10 years. We surveyed and spoke with several key vendors in the sector to gauge their thoughts on the opportunities and challenges they’re witnessing within the industry – both from their own point of view, and from the conversations they’re having with customers and partners on a daily basis.
We’d like to thank all the companies who found the time to offer their unique perspectives: ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, Commend, HID Global, nedap, Omdia, Paxton, Salto Systems and Suprema.
